- but also offline, like here in Jerusalem -
where he constantly searches for rare and exciting recordings.

How it all began ..

From early childhood, Meir’s life was intertwined with sound. He absorbed every tone with instinctive curiosity. His parents recognized this connection and often placed him close to live bands at celebrations - weddings, parties, community events - letting him soak in melodies that stirred something deep inside him.

At age 18, more than 35 years ago, Meir began collecting seriously. His passion for Israeli music became the driving force behind an archive made entirely of Israeli vinyl records, CDs and music books. It stands as a testament to his dedication and lifelong commitment.

Pure Nostalgia ..

If he could, Meir would spend every moment immersed in the nostalgic sounds of Israeli music from the mid‑1960s to the 1970s. His favorite artists include Yehoram Gaon, HaGevatron and HaParvarim. His record player practically never rests - it plays day and night.

In 2004, Meir appeared on Israeli television in the show "Shooting & Singing" ("יורים ושרים"),
where he spoke about his passion for collecting and his extensive knowledge
of Israeli music, especially songs performed by IDF military bands.

Still Waters Run Deep

Although naturally shy, Meir stepped out of his comfort zone between 2009 and 2012, when he co-hosted the weekly radio show "Nahtche in Gimmel" ("נחצ'ה בגימל")
alongside the late composer and Israeli Prize winner Nachum (Nahtche) Heiman.

Several years ago, an Israeli newspaper published an article highlighting
Meir’s remarkable dedication and his lifelong musical journey.
